Although I'm not very good in writing reviews, I'm going to try anyway, so bear with me. Today I received Cloud Party's CDs 'Everything And Nothing' and 'Real'. I just opened the envelope 15 minutes ago, so I won't do a song by song review, as the music has to 'sink in', so to speak.
Following Jim's advise, I'm listening to 'Real' right now and I said it before, it's the worst cliche for a musician, but these songs simply RAWK ! They really do ! They are so good, that I'm deliberately missing a soccer-match AND the Olympic Games on TV (Holland vs. England, for those that need reasons).
Anyway, I opened the envelope and immediately thought that the cover-art of the CDs looked very professional. If you have to promote a band, 'there's no second chance to ... etc', right ? Second thing I did was running (well, the knee-problem doesn't allow me yet) upstairs, unwrapping the plastic from the jewel-case (they're pro's, remember ?!) and popped it in the CD-player. An acoustic guitar intro ? Dare-devils ;o) ! No, wait, I really like it, honest ! Well, I grabbed mine (semi-acoustic guitar, you perverts !) and tried to play along ('tried' being the keyword here, although I managed to hit a C-chord in tune with the Cloud Party axemen every now and then).
Did I mention this CD is a 'must have' yet ? It is ... trust me. Thanks Jim, I'll keep part of the promise as soon as I get a hold of a few friends (promoting Cloud Party) and the other half as soon as I can (sending the 3 CDrs).
