Hi!

Is there a relation between Dream Academy and Pink Floyd? If yes, tell me much about it!

Thanks,

Mikkel, Yes there is and many; first Mark Gilmour, brother of...., played with Nick Laird Clowes of DA in a band. David did produced a few songs and played on many guitar. Nick co-wrote some songs for Davi and Pink Floyd. Guy Pratt, Bob Ezrin and more worked with DA. and their song Life in Northern Town is excellent!

Hi!

Thanks to you both! I love how helpful people in here are!

I downloaded 'Life In A Northern Town' a while back, and it's quite cool! Is there any direct PF relation to this single song? David produced this? And what's with that choir, haven't we heard it somewhere else?? When I first heard the song, it felt like I'd heard it maybe 10 years ago. A bit like listening to Belinda Carlisle's 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth' again all of the sudden... LOL

Mikkel, David got credits to produce this song and album from '85. And the sound of the (intro) wind shivers you isn't? Just a floydian sound. You downloaded the song, that's smart i payed about 25 us dollars for the album (Japanese import and is out of order)... but as Gilmour-fan it is worthed.

Nick.

Check out DA's Love Parade -a fabulous song. IMHO better than Life in a Northern Town

Other connections - Nick cowrote some stuff on the Division Bell. He was asked to do some on MLOR but was busy with the second DA album.

The support to Gilmours 18/1/02 show in London was Trashmonk - Nick's new band.

I met Nick after the show and he was really great - more than happy to chat and sign stuff. He said that he has been asked to score a new Cameron Diaz film and that would mean him spending a year in LA - he said he wasn't sure about that bit!!!! I offered to take his place - UK or LA - no choice other than if you are a duck and love the rain.
