On an interview with David Gilmour, back in the days when we could afford cable, David was saying something...I wasn't paying attention to him, rather the rather large at- least 10 string banjo. Is there any music out there with him playing the banjo? I'd give ya my right knee for a copy . Scribbles above hugs Kyla%b

Didn't Syd want to bring in a banjo and some horns and the end of his run with the Floyd?

I saw a pic somewhere where, at the end of The Wall live shows, Gilmour is either playing a banjo or, if not, a guitar meant for a very small person. I am not sure about a 10-string banjo, but the Chapman Stick bass-like instrument has something like 10 strings that you play by hitting rather than plucking. Floyd connection is that Peter Gabriel's bass player Tony Levin (also ex King Crimson) played bass on AMLOR and he is one of the few people in the world who can play the Chapman Stick.

He should have used it on Comfortably Numb on top of the wall. That would have been a laugh.

But we all know that The Wall is a humourless affair, Waters has admitted so. We need a bit of humour injected into proceedings!

True, Rog probably would have cracked up if he looked up 40 feet or so, and instead of the soaring solo, it's gilmour w/ a banjo. lol.

Given his apoplexy with the brickies when they failed to keep up or down with the music and the unreliability of his radio headphones, I rather doubt it.

Sad Ken - six years on amp-f, and still none the wiser
