...Having a drink with a buddy of mine. It occured to me in that nostalgic kind of call-old-friends-long-distance kind of way that I've likely lived more than half my life. Yeah, I know as a kid, I never thought I'd make it this far, blah blah blah, but, looking at it realistically, there's as good a chance as any that I'm about halfway home, if you know what I mean. (Of course, I'm very aware that I could go anytime, but such would be, at least, a bit of a surprise.)

Anyway.

What's the point of this pointless rambling? Well, it also sort of occured to me that if my next half is as good and as interesting as my first half, I've done OK. I'd like to get a lot more work done, surely, but I've managed to maintain a sense of vague purpose throughout, I've managed learn things and touch things and smell things and breathe (TPFR!!!).

None of this means anything to you, you distant and vague being in front of you video screen (Stop that!). But, given the rollercoaster ride that my recent life had become, it's really kind of a clean, well-lighted place to end up tonight.

That's all. Move on to the funnier and more interesting posts now.

<snip>

Is this the opposite of mid life crisis?

A mid life calmness?
