Hi Groupies!

I've decided to do my very own weekly 'E-zine' (if you will) much like Croaker's, but oh so much more spicy. It's titled 'The Flames' and I'll try to get one out every week for your reading enjoyment. It'll profile a particular email and credit to person attached. Wonderful concept, really... But hell, I might forget to do it or blow it off, but keep in mind that I don't care anyway... so here's this issue at least...

The Flames, Volume One - Bedwarmer

Let's get to know our 'regular', shall we? Good. He writes in a recent post:

'Well, I was being hurried and trying to communicate the gist of my feelings. What makes the difference in what comments about me would mean is this; the significance to me of the individual speaking.'

What a statement! Bravo! <claps> But next, he shows his tendencies:

'If (for example) April said something really nice to me, it would mean a lot. I'd blush and thank her for making me feel all warm and squishy inside. That's something Raf does really well btw. <eg>'

Bedwarmer gets mushy! What a friend!

'If she said something that hurt me, I'd feel hurt. Being friends, we could discuss it. If I felt she was in error, I could tell her why and we could work it out. If I felt she was right, I hope I'd be big enough to not only acknowledge to her that she was right but thank her for pointing it out as well.'

Bedwarmer & I *actually* have something in common:

'When someone who means nothing to me says something nice to me, it means nothing to me. The same if they say something bad. I have to stipulate here that I haven't had the experience you have with Muckwit. I haven't been stalked by a freak and been posted about in the way or for as long as he has with you. So, we are two different people with two different experiences and attitudes on a subject.'

Oops! Nevermind, silly me... But he explains...

'I can't tell you that you're right or wrong in what you feel, I can only share with you what my experience has led me to. That is, I'm only bothered if I let myself be. I do have some evidence to demonstrate that my attitude works for me. There have been many who have posted mean things about me and it hasn't bothered me since the very early days of my posting. They don't know me and their ramblings are too easy to dismiss.'

Schrug it off, Beds! Your therapist told you so! Let's get to the heart of the pain:

'But then, my life experience has made me able to shrug off stuff like that. When you've been physically abused by stepparents to the point of having permanent scars and emotionally neglected by your parents as I have, you soon learn that what others think can't be allowed to be important, even if they're right (in which case this attitude is a failing) simply because it hurts to much to lend credence to criticism.'

What vocabulary! What precision! What better time to vent it out... than here on AMP-F:

'Shrugging of insults is easy for me because I've been fat, four eyed, ugly and queer since grade school. I've become immune to such slings and arrows.'

Right you have! And damn good at it you are, Beds (if I may). Despite being fat, quadeyed, homely, and gay as can be, you make your own way. Bravo!

'You otoh, are an attractive, affluent and sensitive guy who's bothered by such things if for no other reason than the fact that you haven't had to suffer such torments from childhood. Different lives, different reactions to similar stimuli. Truly, John, usenet insult campaigns just don't hold a candle to the humiliations I've suffered in meat life. That's why I can shrug off that shit so easily.'

As you will this... As you will this. Fantastic!

That about wraps up our first edition of The Flames. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. That Bedwarmer fellow is a special kind of guy, he is... Not a charade in him, not *one*. I'm honored to share this little piece of what we've all known to be called the 'internet newsgroup' with this special fella. Goodbye for now and... take care of yourself... and each other.

But without any humor at all.

Heh heh.

This is the most I've read from him in days. Every time he gets by my filters, I just click block sender, and yes to 'delete all posts from this sender?' and he's flushed again.

I've even put a toilet flushing sound on my recycle bin in his honor.
